2020 has been somewhat challenging for many of us. Some speculations for the year were about seeing it nearly impossible for the fashion market to survive. However overall, good portions of the market with strong online presence have over achieved their targets reaching better results than expected.
Why there is several high street stores closing down?
Yes it seems like an easy outcome to blame the pandemic however, the closures of many stores really was inevitable for the near future, due to transforming market conditions. Consumers have been directed more towards online shopping in previous years by getting offered better and swift services. This has left brick and mortar stores as a second choice although we enjoy the experience.
All this was meant to happen in few years to come on a slower pace and it would have gave more time for traditional businesses to adapt. However the pandemic fastened this process very rapidly forcing many stores for a decision to make.
Although many high street stores went in to administration, actually most are closing their stores to cut all expenses and moving fully or a major part of their business online.
Online trade has been around for quite some time now however, analysts speculate that still we are pretty much at the beginning! Probably the shift of business we will see in the next 3 to 5 years will be much greater than the entire history of online trade.
So it's never late!!
What’s in it for us?
A lot of stocks! For low prices! With all these lockdowns at least half of the high street stores goods are stuck in warehouses and as season passes it will have to be cleared.
